Day 1: Mahogany Springs Lodge, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Arrive in Kigali & Transfer to Bwindi
Journey Time: 4 -5 Hours
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be received by our representative for a transfer to Bwindi near Buhoma by road.
Best for morning flights, you will spend the rest of the day at leisure with meals at the hotel.
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Located in south-western Uganda, the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is said to be Africa’s oldest rainforest. It is world-renowned for its excellent gorilla-sighting opportunities. The rugged landscape features dense jungle, cascading waterfalls, sparkling mountain streams, deep valleys and steep ridges. Don’t miss the opportunity to explore the spectacular Virunga Volcanoes.
Mahogany Springs is situated in one of the most intimate, secluded, beautiful and most importantly natural settings in the world and only around 2 minutes away from the Gorilla tracking starting point.
Day 2: Mahogany Springs Lodge, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Gorilla Trekking Day|Optional Activities
Early Breakfast, and transfer to the Park Headquarters for briefing before Gorilla Tracking and chimpanzee tracking. Get up close & personal with the Gorillas and spend a full hour watching, photographing & learning more about the giant apes limited to only Uganda, Rwanda & Democratic Republic of Congo.
Birding is also among the activities, as the park is home to over 348 bird species (African green broadbill, Shelley’s crimson & more), together with 220 butterfly species awaiting your visit. Thereafter return to the hotel for lunch, with optional activities in the evening.
Optional Activities: Batwa Cultural Trail & Community/Nature hikes/walks.
Day 3: End of Itinerary
Depart Bwindi to Kigali & Departure
Journey time: 4 - 5 hours
After an early breakfast, depart Bwindi by road to Kigali arriving at Kigali International Airport, to check-in for your departure.
